Like the city of Pontiac, the Lafayette Market is a story of growth and transformation. We began as a fresh-food market, café & corporate caterer. We have since grown into a handcrafted coffee shop, artisanal café and full service catering & events planner.
Lafayette Market opened in 2012 when Pontiac-based developers Kyle & Brent Westberg renovated the historic Sears Store, a 1921 Albert Kahn inspired building, into what you see today; a café, event space, residential lofts, and neighborhood gym.
Under the helm of catering professional, Julie Gilbert, we have grown and expanded our café space and catering services. Executive Chef Tony Aja has a progressive yet approachable style across the board. Whether it’s a café special, or an individualized event menu, our offerings draw on seasonal flavors and highlight our clients vision. We believe our food should guide your experience.
Lafayette Market is committed to the city of Pontiac and to upholding Metro-Detroit’s longstanding food culture. We source our ingredients locally, when seasonally appropriate, and proudly serve Michigan roasted coffees, teas, and partner with exceptional food proprietors.
